Swensen's ice cream enters India
San Francisco-based ice cream brand Swensen’s, on Thursday, opened its store at Mantri Mall, through a franchise model in partnership with RJ Group, marking its entry into the Rs 1,300 crore Indian branded ice cream market.
Swensen’s (Thai) Limited Managing Director Peter King said: “Swensen’s is not just about eating ice cream its about experience that we offer through our staff and the ambience. We sell one of the best sundaes.” RJ Group firm Devyani International Limited President Virag Joshi said they aim to open another 5 stores in three months – four in Bangalore and one in Delhi International Airport. They have a target of opening 80 store in South India in the next five years.
