Raymond Weil plans India office in B'lore

RW, which opened its first exclusive boutique in the country in the national capital on Thursday, will also start two new shops in Hyderabad and Pune. The Delhi boutique will be the biggest RW store in the world.  The luxury watch company, which has presence in 90 countries and 3500 points of sales, will open the Bangalore subsidiary on Sunday, June 13. The company already has one office in the IT hub.

Opening the Delhi boutique,  President & CEO Olivier Bernheimsaid RW brand was the first Swiss watch imported in India 30 years ago. “Most of today’s Indian luxury watch dealers were introduced to selling luxury watches thanks to RW”, he said and added that India was a very fast-moving market with huge potential in terms of economy and development.
“Indian customers are becoming more and more knowledgeable and great watch connoisseurs”, he remarked.  

Describing India as a critical market of the future, it was with this in view the company would open its subsidiary and two more shops in different parts of the country.

“RW is more than ever committed to expanding in India where our brand has been sustaining a continuous growth over the last 30 years.  Our aim is to maintain our brand awareness and our presence in the most distinctive and selective points of sale”, he added.
