Miraj-Hubli train derails
Hubli, June 15, DHNS:
The Miraj-Hubli Link Express (train no 1047) derailed between Nagaralli-Tavaragatti stations near Alnavar in Dharwad district on the Londa-Hubli section of the South Western Railway in the wee hours of Tuesday.
The engine and four general second class coaches of the train slipped off the track when the front wheel of the loco train jumped after hitting a object on the track. No casualties were reported.
A medical relief van and a ‘brake down special train’ were rushed to the spot immediately. Due to the derailment, all the trains, including the Rani Chennamma Express, were detained at Hubli and Dharwad. Train services resumed in the night.
