Last Updated 11 June 2009, 17:12 IST

Rohan, seeded fifth, registered a convincing 6-4, 6-3 win over third seed Monish Rajer -- who accounted for top seed Sai Reddy 6-2, 6-7 (6), 6-0 in a three-setter in the semifinal -- to clinch the title.

Later, Rohan outplayed S Raghavendra in the under-18 last four encounter to set up the summit clash with top seed Monish, who got an easy passage to the final when his opponent Sai retired while trailing 0-2 in the first set.

The girls’ under-16 final also saw a shocking result with third seed S P Ritu erasing a first-set lapse to conquer the top-seeded Preethi Ujjani 5-7, 6-3, 6-1. Ritu continued her giant killing spree in the under-18 last four match too as she once again accounted for Preethi, the second seed, 7-5, 6-1.

Eyeing a double, Ritu will meet top-seeded Rachitha Sarda, a 6-1, 6-1 winner over Tejaswini Bellude, in the title clash on Friday.
