Four-day theatre festival in honour of Jayashree

The four-day theatre festival, organised to mark nomination of veteran theatre personality B Jayashree, began in Bangalore on Monday. Bhagavatharu, a theatre troupe has organised the festival - Spandana Natakotsava - in honour of Jayashree.

Theater artiste B Jayashree performing at Spandana Natakotsava in Bangalore on Monday. dh photoThe event includes staging plays directed by Jayashree and interaction with her. On the first day Jayashree and her Spandana team rendered theatre songs.

Karimayi, a play based on Chandrashekhar Kambar’s novel and directed by Jayashree, will be staged on Tuesday at 7 pm.

Sadarame, a popular play of Gubbi company, will be staged on Wednesday. The plays will be staged at Ravindra Kalakshetra. Entry ticket costs Rs 50. For details call: 94480-77292.
