<p>Renamed as the “Alliance Against Copyright Theft – AACT”, the AACT has Reliance Big Entertainment, Moser Baer Entertainment, UTV Motion Pictures, Eros International and the Motion Picture Distributors Association as its founding members. <br /><br />The launch of the toll-free number coincided with UTV Motion Pictures’ and Dharma Productions’ “I Hate Luv Storys” starring Imran Khan and Sonam Kapoor. The actor duo will publicise the toll free number as part of the film’s promotional campaign across the country.<br />The anti-piracy hotline will allow people in Mumbai and neighbouring Thane to register their piracy complaints by calling the toll free number without revealing their identity.<br /><br />Upon receiving the complaints, the authorities concerned will be immediately notified of the unlawful conduct. Already this year, the police conducted over a hundred anti-piracy raids in Mumbai alone.<br /><br />Harish Dayani of Moser Baer asserts said the public has to be involved in the fight against piracy and the AACT is trying to create awareness about the damage piracy causes to the industry.<br /><br />In addition to the launch of its new name, logo, and hotline, the AACT will also be launching its website www.aact.in. The website will provide up to date information about all AACT campaigns and activities. <br /></p>
