<p>Like Kalam, Bal Govind also loves to teach children and at 11 pm on Friday, he completed 40 hours of non-stop teaching at Ballabh Memorial School in the old city.<br /><br />Bal Govind had embarked upon the exercise at 7 am on Thursday and continued to teach till 11 pm on Friday. Though he went to the washroom for about ten minutes, he took his meals inside the class room.<br /><br />When asked whether the students were tired while being taught, he said they were taught in batches. <br /><br />“Each batch consisted of 20 children,” Afreen, the principal of the school, said adding that “each batch was changed after every four hours”. The batches had students from first to eighth standard, she said.<br /><br />Bal Govind said he did not do it for the sake of records or for gaining publicity. “I want to fulfil the mission of former president Kalam,” he added.<br /><br />Asked what were the topics he taught, Bal Govind said they included lessons in patriotism, moral values, nation building, teachings of great leaders, etc.<br /><br />In 2007, Bal Govind had created a record of sorts by teaching non-stop for 36 hours.<br />After retiring from a city intermediate college, Bal Govind has embarked upon a mission to inculcate values in children. <br /><br />Although he was a clerk in the college, he used to teach students in the absence of regular teachers. “I love to teach...In the college also the management had allowed me to teach,” he said.<br /><br />Bal Govind has also donated his body to the CSM Medical University for medical research.<br /></p>
