Bangalore, Jul 14, DHNS:

Zinnov Management Consulting Private Limited, a management consulting firm, on Wednesday, launched its study titled ‘R & D Operations Cost 2010- The Need to look beyond Cost Control’.

According to the study, cost of running research and development centres in India has continued to decline over the last two years and currently stands at Rs 18.2 lakh per person per year. It also said cost has declined by 0.9 per cent in rupee terms in the financial year 2010.

It says R&D centres in India have generated significant cost savings to the firms headquarters because of lower operating costs. It also estimated that R&D centres in India helped the parent organisations save around $40 billion for last 3 years.
