Maradona likely to stay as coach till 2014

Argentina national coach and football legend Diego Maradona was expected to be asked on Thursday to stay on for the next World Cup in 2014 despite a performance seen by many as disappointing in the recent tournament in South Africa.
The president of the Argentinian football association, Julio Grondona, was to make the offer in a private meeting, his spokesman was quoted as saying by the Clarin newspaper Wednesday.
Maradona, a star player in Argentina's 1986 World Cup victory, appeared distraught after his team lost 0-4 to Germany in the quarterfinals of this year's competition and has hardly spoken to the media since his return to Buenos Aires.
