<p>“The minister and four other MLAs from Bellary district met three rowdy-sheeters who are charged with major offences-Bettanagere Manja from Nelamangala, Chandregouda from Bellary district and Katte Naga,” sources in the police department told Deccan Herald.<br /><br />The police arrested Chandregouda in connection with the murder of a taluk panchayat president. Bettanagere Manja and Katte Naga were arrested for murder and other serious offences. Sriramulu reportedly spent much time in those places where most of the notorious rowdy-sheeters have been kept. He spoke to Chandregouda for more than 10 minutes. <br />He also spent more than half an hour with Bettanagere Manja, sources said. It is not known what were the ‘issues’ discussed.<br /><br />Sriramulu paid a surprise visit to the Prisons around 2 pm on Tuesday. He spent nearly three hours in the prisons. He spent more time for his talks with rowdies instead of asking for medical facilities. <br /><br />He reportedly called some of the rowdies from in and around Bellary and talked to them in a separate room. Interestingly, the Prisons officials were sent out of the room when the rowdies entered for ‘talks’, said sources. <br /><br />The minister also visited cells of other inmates and asked them about the problems in the Prisons. Sriramulu’s visit was kept as a top secret. <br /><br />Interestingly, he had not taken any of the officials of his department with him.</p>
