Monsoon revisits North Karnataka

This is almost for the first time after the monsoon began, that the region has received some good rains. Incessant rains have been reported from Bellary, Bagalkot, Gadag, Haveri and Dharwad districts. With this, now the agriculture activities are expected to resume in the districts.

Shimoga

Water level in Linganamakki reservoir has risen by 1.6 feet in last 24 hours owing to torrential downpour in the catchment areas. Water level in Linganamakki reservoir has reached 1,764.80 feet with 19,063 cusec inflow against the maximum capacity of 1,819 feet.
The reservoir had 1,799.40 feet water last year on the same day. Bhadra reservoir had 153.4 feet water with 6,223 cusec inflow.

Agumbe has received 128 mm rain and Tirthahalli 48.4 mm. The rain has receded in Shimoga, Shikaripur, Bhadravati and Sorab taluks.

Uttara Kannada

Uttara Kannada district is witnessing good rainfall since couple of days.

Agricultural activities have once again gained momentum following the revival of monsoon as farmers are eagerly waiting for rains.
