Jayalalithaa rules out alliance with NDA

Chennai, Apr 14: Jayalalithaa on Monday, Apr 13, rubbished the reports that claimed that AIADMK may be joining hands with the Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) after the polls.

"The reports are baseless. The AIADMK is not in talks with any political party for a post-poll alliance other than those who are our present allies," Jayalalithaa said in a statement.

AIADMK's alliances include with Communist Party of India-Marxist, Communist Party of India, PMK and MDMK. Jayalalithaa said these ties were strong and said, "Other suggestions are mischievous and wrong."

Earlier speaking to press in Thiruvananthapuram, BJP's Prime Ministerial candidate, L K Advani had indicated that there may be talks with AIADMK and Bahujan Samajwadi Party (BSP). However, he later clarified that, "I only indicated the possibility of talks and nothing more."
