MLC to raise more mine soot after padayatra
Kondaiah threatens, Sriramulu reacts; Cong padayatra reaches Sira
Member of Legislative Council K C Kondaiah has said that he will expose people involved in illegal mining with documentary evidence after the culmination of the Congress padayatra in the City on August 9.
Speaking to reporters here on Friday, Kondaiah said he was in possession of information on people involved in illegal mining, particularly in Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh.
He said he will come up with details of the mode adopted for transportation of huge quantity of ore, the persons involved, and the deception. Kondaiah said he would present all the information before the media.
The MLC said the ban on ore export would no way help in curbing illegal mining and felt that those carrying out the business with valid permit would approach court challenging the ban. He however refused to react to “Swabhimane Yatra” taken out by Health Minister Sriramulu in the district.

The Congress padayatra reached Sira from Seebi in the taluk on its sixth day.
The leaders, after a puja at the Seebi temple, hit the roads at 9 am, amidst drizzling. Teams of folk artistes and Congress workers accompanied the padayatris. Mysore peta and a sword were presented to legislator T B Jayachandra and D K Shivakumar. The vehicles accompanying the padayatra had formed a one-km long queue. The padayatra was facilitated on National Highway-4 by imposing one-way traffic. The workers had lunch at the house of legislator Jayachandra in Kallambella in the noon. Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly S Siddaramaiah addressed a press meet also. Salumarada Thimmakka led planting of 101 saplings on the occasion.

I have decimated Congress: Sriramulu
Health Minister Sriramulu has reacted strongly to the comments of KPCC president R V Deshapande terming him a novice in politics.
“I might be a novice in politics. But I have decimated Congress in Bellary district, which was its bastion for 50 years,” he said here on Friday.
Addressing a public meeting on the occasion of “Swabhimani Yatre” Sriramulu said he would welcome any personal comments on him by Opposition leaders, but not that against people of Bellary. He claimed that Congress has lost its base in the district.
