Samsung unveils slim 3D LED TV

Samsung India announced the national launch of world’s slimmest Full HD 3D LED TV- Series 9000 in the Indian market.

In March this year Samsung had launched country’s first 3D TV across LED, LCD and Plasma platforms. The company claimed that it is also the first to manufacture 3D TVs at its Noida manufacturing facility.

The just-launched Samsung 9000 series 3D LED TV is ultra sleek 7.98 mm thin form with a built-in tuner and touch remote control. In fact the screen of the remote can also play the same programme being played on the TV. The TV also has a ‘Realtime Conversion’ technology which can convert a 2D television programme into 3D with the touch of a button.

Thus, consumers can add a level of depth and clarity to a live football game, making them believe they are part of the action by watching in the 3D Mode. When not in the 3D mode, you’re back to watching one of the best performing HDTVs on the market with the push of a button.

Briefing reporters, Samsung India Deputy Managing Director Ravinder Zutshi stated: “As global market leader in colour televisions, we always try to bring in latest entertainment technology like Full HD 3D TVs for consumers in India as in other parts of the world.

Samsung 3D TVs provide consumers with immersive and comfortable home entertainment experience. The 9000 series is available in 55-inch screen size at Rs 4.40 lakh. He pointed out that the Indian flat panel TV market is likely to touch 30 lakh in 2010 growing at the rate of 10 to 12 per cent.

Since Samsung will be selling around 13 lakh flat panel TVs this year, its share in the market will be around 43 per cent. Samsung has already  Samsung’s LED TV lineup now includes 13 models in the 22” to  55” screen size, priced in the range between Rs 25,000 to Rs 200,000.
