The new systems — T7500, T5500 and T3500 — are purpose-engineered for professionals in engineering, media, entertainment, biosciences, exploration, economic modeling and risk analysis, company officials said.

With Energy Star 5.0 compliance, the new Dell Precision Workstations save about 85 per cent power. One of the earliest to be shipped with Intel Xeon 5500, the workstations also provide a 350 per cent improvement in performance.

Customer choice

Briefing reporters, Dell India Marketing Director Milind Yedkar said customers have also been given a choice between NVIDIA and ATI graphic cards. Dell Precision T7500 offers scalability upto 2 quad core processors and upto 192 GB of 3-channel DDR3 ECC memory up to 1066 or 1333MHz. The T5500 offers Intel Xeon performance in a small footprint system and the T3500 provides a blend of performance and affordability. Features of Nehalem processors such as Intel QuickPath and Direct Cache Access contribute to improved performance, while Intel Turbo mode helps match power usage according to application requirement. The T5500 and T7500 deliver up to 90 per cent better multi-threaded digital content creation application performance versus previous generation systems.

“On top of it we are adding the most effective technology to match customer requirements,” said James Rhee, Head of Marketing for APJ region.
