Karnataka Housing Board to allot over 20,000 sites by Oct-end

Karnataka Housing Board would allot 20,500 residential sites in the State by October-end, Housing Minister Katta Subramanya Naidu said today.
He told reporters here that 10,500 sites would be allotted in Suryanagar second phase on the city outskirts and an additional 10,000 sites in district and taluk headquarters.
"By year-end, we (KHB) will provide one lakh houses", he said.
Naidu also said land deeds would be given to slum dwellers in the first stage in the next three-four months.With matching grants from the State to the Central assistance, slums would get infrastructure and housing, he said.There are 2704 slums in Karnataka and Bangalore alone has 500. Fifteen lakh families reside in slums of the State.
