<p>The eight, including the shop watchman Dhansingh, were arrested from various parts of the country and Nepal, Police Commissioner Shankar Bidari told reporters here.<br /><br />Investigations revealed that Dhansingh, who had been working in the shop for the last five years, and six others, all belonging to Nepal and working as watchmen at other places in the city, hatched the conspiracy to commit the theft at Micro International Bullion Traders. Dhansingh had been missing since the theft came to light.<br /><br />Pursuing available clues, police teams were dispatched to Kolkata, Mumbai, Delhi, Mathura and Nepal to trace Dhansingh and his accomplices.<br /><br />Police were able to trace Dhansingh and his aide Sanjay Bhandari in Nepal and recover Rs one lakh from them. "However the Nepal police were yet to hand over the custody of the duo the Bangalore police", Bidari said.<br /><br />Three others -- Padam Thapa, Tek Bahadur, Jora -- were nabbed from Mumbai on August 18 and Rs 65 lakh recovered from them. Two other associates Nayarm Naresh and Thapendra Bahadur were arrested from Hazarath Nizamuddin Railway station, New Delhi, on August 12 while they were trying to escape to Nepal via Mathura and Rs 68 lakh recovered.<br /><br />Ram Bahadur, father-in-law of Jai Bhadur, the driver of the car in which the stolen cash was carried, was arrested from Shikaripura in Shimoga district on August 18 and Rs 55.87 lakh recovered from him.<br /><br />Police were also able to recover Rs 21 lakh which the accused had given to Bahutraj Shashi, a relative for safe keeping, in Uttaranchal.<br /><br />The arrested were aged between 23 and 61.<br /><br />Efforts were on trace some more accomplices and recover the remaining cash, he said adding the arrests had been swift taking into account the geographical locations that the teams covered.<br /><br />Expressing concern over the growing crime incidents in which citizens of Nepal were found to be involved, he said the police were planning to approach the centre through the state government and apprise them of these crimes and to see if such citizens entering India could be given work permits.</p>
