Neil Nitin Mukesh as a tapori? Empty a tonne of tar on him and he still shines like a full moon. So his “One Shot Nandu” (who knocks out rivals in boxing ring with a single punch) is the first casting casualty, as Yashraj Films returns after a calamity called “Laaga Chunari Mein Daag”. Keeping company is Deepika-no-sympathy-please-Padukone who is fighting a tragedy and aiming the Rs 50-lakh prize of a TV show.
As love takes over, Neil ditches his boxing boots for a pair of skating shoes and is out to show that India’s Got Talent. Due credit to the lead pair for those fantastic figure skating rounds. Meanwhile, a stubborn cop does the rounds of Mumbai streets to crack the “Pinky Palkar case”. Never mind, police here understand love ka maamla and close the file even if the footprints and fingerprints lead to the hero.
Deepika turns stiff when the situation demands that she stretches more facial muscles. Otherwise, Ms Padukone is all grace on wheels as the skating beauty. Neil infuses his youthful energy into this “wild” love story with a tame end. An average entertainer from the Yashraj stable is quite an achievement for the camp which is still licking a string of Bollywood wounds.
