Working in the Social Welfare Department, he was reportedly a National Conference activist. He was fired upon when he was coming out of a mosque after offering prayers.<br /> Haji Mohammad Ashraf Ganai, Sopore MLA, survived another bid on his life when militants opened fire at his residence in the Dangerpora area. <br />“Policemen deployed there retaliated.
