Jharkhand emporium inaugurated
Jharcraft, an exclusive Jharkhand State emporium on St Johnís Road was inaugurated in Bangalore on Sunday.
Jharcraft will promote handicrafts and handloom products prepared by weavers and artisans from Jharkhand. The emporium was inaugurated by Jharkhand Governor MOH Farook.
“This is the first independent Jharcraft outlet in Bangalore and 12th outlet all over India. There are more than 1,10,000 artisans from Jharkhand who are involved in handicraft activities. These artisans are paid Rs 200 per day and are mainly from the naxal-infected areas,” Mukesh Gopi, regional officer, Bangalore emporium.
