Special cell to probe Belekeri ore scam
Bangalore, September 1, DHNS:
The Criminal Investigation Department has constituted a special cell to probe into the Belekeri port iron ore scam. The action follows the High Court’s Circuit Bench at Dharwad pulling up the CID for its slow investigation into the ore theft case.
The team, formed on Tuesday, has two Superintendents of Police, five DySPs and three inspectors. The SPs are - Bheemaiah and Lokesh Kumar. Until now, DySP Muddumahadevaiah conducted the investigation.
The investigation agency has arrested 11 persons in connection with the scam.
