Moderate quake in Andaman Islands

An earthquake of moderate intensity today hit the Andaman Islands, the Met office here said.

There was, however, no immediate report of any casualty or damage, officials said.
The quake, measuring 5.3 on the Richter scale, occurred at 5.50 am, the Met office said.
