Girl succumbs to injuries after thrashing by headmaster

Muzaffarnagar, Sep 3 (PTI):

A class II girl student died here today, three days after she was allegedly beaten up by the headmaster of a government school, police said.

Mantasha (8) was a student of Jawahar Primary School at Ladhawala locality. Her headmaster Nabi Mohammad on Tuesday allegedly thrashed her for indiscipline in class leading to serious backbone injuries.

The girl succumbed to injuries at her house today.

Following a complaint by the victim's father, a case under IPC section 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) and section 504 (insult intended to provoke breach of peace) was registered against the headmaster on Wednesday, police said.
Efforts were on to nab the headmaster who is at large.
