Pakistan releases 80 fishermen, 100 more on their way home
Over 80 fishermen of Saurashtra region captured by Pakistan Marin security today reached their home towns in the region after they were released.
Another batch of nearly 100 fishermen is on its way back home. Senior officer of fisheries department V S Mali told PTI that one batch of nearly 101 fishermen was released by the Pakistan government nearly three days ago and they have reached their home towns. The health condition of fishermen is quite good, he added.
The official said another batch of 100 fishermen has also been released from Pakistani Jails and have entered into Indian territory this morning. The released fishermen of second batch is expected to reach Rajkot tomorrow afternoon, he said.
Porbandar Boat Association president Hiralal Shiyal confirmed the arrival of first batch of fishermen and said nearly 80 fishermen have reached their hometowns in Saurashtra region and another 82 are coming tomorrow. He said still 242 fishermen are still in Pakistan jails.
