Autorickshaw fare hiked by Re 1

Mysore: Sept 4, DHNS:

Just as all prices are shooting up, the minimum fare for autorickshaws in the city too will be dearer by Re 1.

Citizens will be paying Rs 15 for minimum fare, as against the previous Rs 14.

This follows a decision taken at a meeting held at Regional Transport Office (RTO) in the city last month. The minimum fare will be applicable for first 1.7 km, while Rs nine will be charged for every one km.

There will be no waiting charges for five minutes.

Waiting charge

Re one will be charged for every additional 15 minutes and later, while Rs two will be charged for the luggage weighing more than 20 kg.

The revised fare chart, with the consent of RTO, has to be displayed at a prominent place in every autorickshaw, a  press release from the RTO office said here.
