Truck laden with two cars catches fire
Two new cars and a truck which was transporting them were destroyed when the truck caught fire after it came in contact with a high tension wire near Koli Farm Gate on Bannerghatta road on Saturday.
The police said the incident occurred when the truck driver was trying to park the truck on the side of the road. The upper portion of the truck touched the high tension wire and within minutes the truck caught fire, the police added.
The driver jumped out of the truck and absconded. Four fire tenders rushed to the spot and put off the fire after a few people noticed the incident and informed them.
The incident hampered traffic movement on the road. Slow vehicular movement led to jams on roads in and around Bannerghatta road. The total loss in the incident is yet to be ascertained, the police added.
