Teachers’ Day in Udupi
District-level Teachers Day celebration was organised jointly by Udupi District Level Teachers Day Celebration Committee and Dr G Shankar Family Trust here at Shyamili Hall on Sunday.
Speaking on the occasion, Udupi-Chikmagalur MP D V Sadananda Gowda said that the recent innovative ideas introduced by Union Minister Kapil Sibal, pose danger to the field of education. “Mass view should be considered before introducing any legislation. The Government should not deploy the services of teachers outside their limits in respective fields. More often teachers are made to work for all unnecessary reasons,” he added.
Youth are undergoing tremendous pressure in todays world. Overall personality development of a student is possible only when the student is not victimised to stress.
Parents should not target their children for their own aspirations. A teacher creates miracle in the life of a student. He is capable of bringing students out from excessive stress, Gowda said.
Retired teachers from Udupi and Brahmavar zone were felicitated on the occasion. The district schools which have secured 100 per cent result in the SSLC exam were awarded.
