Rs 1.22 cr stolen goods recovered
The South East police arrested 40 persons during the past few days in connection with 113 cases and recovered jewellry, cash, vehicles and other articles worth Rs 1.22 crore.
The Madivala police arrested two persons Vadivelu (29) and Prakash (27) both from Vellore district in Tamil Nadu in connection with vehicle theft and recovered six high end model cars. Police said they would come to Bangalore in bus and steal the cars and two wheelers parked in front of houses using duplicating keys.
They would use the cars to transport rice, available for Re one in Tamil Nadu and transport the same to Andhra Pradesh. They would sell the rice and the cars for higher prices and return to their native place. They had stolen cars from Madivala, Parappana Agrahara, J P Nagar and Mico-layout worth Rs 35 lakh. They also had stolen 10 bikes from the same areas.
In another case, the police arrested Akram Pasha and Shashikumar and recovered 31 bikes worth Rs 17 lakh. The duo had stolen the bikes from parking lots and those parked in front of houses.
The Hulimavu police arrested Kannan and recovered jewellry, electronic gadgets and vehicles worth Rs 12 lakh. He had struck at 15 houses during night in Hulimavu area.
