Raitha Morcha chalks out action plan to popularise organic farming

Speaking at a meeting of the farmers here on Saturday, he said that unbridled use of chemical fertilisers was robing fertility from the soil, and destroying earthworms, the friends of farmers.

Disclosing the measures taken up by Raitha Morcha to spread awareness on organic farming, Narayanagowda said that attempts are being made to organise farmers in each taluk to generate awareness on organic farming.

Financial assistance

A Pramukh will be identified at panchayat level and a Kisan Prahari will be appointed for 5-6 villages. These leaders will be entrusted with the responsibility of organising farmers in each village. BJP State Executive Committee member K Narayanappa, who spoke on the occasion said that the state government had been giving emphasis on organic farming by providing financial assistance through banks. Bharatiya Kisan Sangha district president M N Krishnappa said that the Sangha has grown up as a non-political entity.

Outgoing president of Raitha Morcha, Agalagurki Chandrashekhar handed over charge to the new incumbent Mylappanahalli Krishnamurthy. General secretary of Raitha Morcha, Anjaneya Reddy and office-bearers of the district unit were present.
