Report on CM’s statement sent to EC
The Office of Chief Electoral Officer (OCEO), Karnataka, has dispatched to the Election Commission of India (EC) a report on Chief Minister Yeddyurappa’s reported statement that he would adopt Kadur Assembly if the BJP wins the byelections.
Sources said the OCEO has got a detailed report from the Chikmagalur district Deputy Commissioner in this regard and has forwarded it to the Election Commission, as it would amount to violation of model code of conduct.
The Election Commission will take an appropriate decision based on the report.
In his recent election campaign, Yeddyurappa had reportedly stated that he would ensure overall development of Kadur if the electorate favour the party.
The Chief Minister has already received a notice from the ECI for his recent statement in Hubli on providing reservation to Adi Balajiga community.
