Infy BPO to hire 550 more people for Poland biz

New Delhi, Sep 9 (PTI)

Infosys BPO today said it will increase the total headcount of its Poland operations to 1,500 in the next twelve months.

"The company currently employees 950 people, at least in next twelve months we should get to a level of around 1,500," Infosys BPO MD & CEO Dandapani Swaminathan told PTI here.

Besides, Swaminathan expects to "double the investment in the region (Poland) over the next two years, taking base level around from USD 10 million dollars."Indo-polish bilateral trade is likely to double to USD 2 billion by 2013. The import and export between the two countries has crossed USD 1 billion now, Indian Ambassador to Poland Deepak Vohra said in an event organised by the CII.

Besides in another press release, Infosys BPO, the subsidiary of Infosys Technologies today said that it has won the CMO (chief marketing officer) Asia award 2010 for excellence in branding and marketing.

CMO Asia Awards are given in partnership with the CMO council and hosted by the World Brand Congress in recognition of branding, client and employee level communication initiatives.

"Our back office operations (BPO) has been selected for the award for excellence in driving thought leadership and showcasing a strong relationship with analysts, media and other key influences," Infosys BPO marketing head Purnima Menon said.
