Helpline
District Electoral Officer (Bangalore South) V Yeshwanth, who is BBMP Additional Commissioner (South), has set up a helpline - 26577622 - to address voters’ poll-related problems in the seven constituencies of the district.
Citizens of Govindrajnagar, Vijaynagar, Basavanagudi, Padmanabhanagar, BTM Layout , Jayanagar and Bommanahalli constituencies can call the helpline.
Mobile squads
The BBMP has set up 50 mobile squads to check violation of Karnataka Open Places (Prevention of Disfigurement) Act by candidates of various parties.. BBMP Special Commissioner (Administration) B S Ramprasad, also the Bangalore District Electoral Officer, told Deccan Herald on Thursday these squads will go round the City on a regular basis and pull down banners, posters and buntings put up without Palike’s permission.
Meanwhile, BBMP personnel on Thursday removed 130 posters, 120 banners and some buntings put up without permission in Chikpet Assembly constituency.
