Unsafe neighbourhood
I wish to draw the attention of the concerned authorities that, at the entrance of the 4th main, Industrial Town, 4th phase on the West of Chord Road, the row of vacant sites become a haven for anti-social elements at night. Though there are sufficient number of electric poles, none is fitted with street lights.
Industrial garbage is being thrown onto these sites apart from burning of toxic waste. The residential area has become extremely unhygienic, from the toxins emitted causing air pollution, apart from breeding of mosquitoes due to uncleared garbage.
Sand lorries are not just parked on the road but the drivers even use the space to clean their vehicles destroying the asphalted roads and blocking the path.
I request the concerned authorities to inspect this place and take immediate action.

Roller coaster drives
When it comes to the infrastructure development in and around ‘Bruhat Bangalore’, unlike roads, power supply and water supply, railway facilities appear to have significantly improved, in harmony with the growth of the metropolis, the past two decades. Traditionally, the City railway station and cantonment station used to cater to the traffic requirements of the City. The goods yard in the above stations were shunted out to a comfortably accessible Whitefield.
Then the Yeshwantpur junction started being developed as another terminal for north-bound trains. However, though this railway terminal and an important junction at that, is located at a vantage point flanked by the busy Tumkur road on one side, reaching either of the two entrances is nothing short of dealing with a jigsaw puzzle, courtesy the narrowest and filthy lanes euphemistically called roads. The railways, in tandem with the BBMP, should provide convenient road connectivity to this station forthwith.
Now that the Devanahalli airport is to be in place shortly, the Yelahanka junction should also get a face lift. So that the citizens of that part of the City need not be subjected to a roller coaster drive to the station and Yeshwantpur to board a north-bound train.

Underground drainage
Since the formation of Muniswamy Reddy Garden Layout, the capacity of the underground drainage system in the area is inadequate, especially during the monsoons.
Now, the area has more than three big apartments and it is necessary to get bigger underground pipes. Several complaints are filed through local corporators at the office of the Corporation Commissioner and to the area Executive Engineer. BWSSB has not initiated any action despite a memorandum being submitted. This has led to sanitary problems and we have to put up with foul smell that emanates from the drain. The whole area is flooded and the water enters the houses during the monsoons. There is a fear of epidemic spreading in the area. Will the concerned authorities look into the matter at the earliest?
