Meet discusses citizen's problems

Taluk Panchayat has not received any details regarding the SC/ST Welfare Projects under Dr Ambedkar Development Corporation, informed executive officer of the department, A Gopal.

He was speaking at the several departments monthly- progress review meeting.  Reacting to the statement made by Dr Ambedkar Corporation regarding the projects, Executive officer of the department A Gopal said “We  have not received any details with regard to the various projects. Hence, information about those projects should be given in the near future,” he added.

Zilla Panchayat member Shivakumar suggested  the Zilla Panchayat official Jayaprakash to take precautionary measures to tackle the drinking water problem as summer season is around the corner.

The members discussed the drinking water problem  in Saalkatte village.  Zilla Panchayat Vice- President Kamalanaik suggested the members  to ensure that all works will be finished by March and utilise the grants given to the works. Executive officer directed CDPO and block education officer to concentrate more on the cleanliness of toilets in anganwadi and schools.

The officer even asked the gram panchayat officer submit the report in this regard.

Vice- president drew the attention of the members abut not giving the certificate from the department to the deserving persons who  were trained by Industrial Department.

Farmers are in fix  as the medicine is not available in veterinary hospital, said  Uppinakatte Shivakumar. There has been some confusion regarding the distribution of BPL cards as the village accountant failed to provide proper information, the Vice-President said.

The President said that as many as 20 families have not received the cards till now so far.  Zilla Panchayat Engineer Ramachandra Deshapande submitted memorandum urging the president to provide suitable site for the construction of Samarthya Soudha building worth Rs 18 lakh. Executive Officer A Gopal welcomed the gathering and proposed vote of thanks.
