To create awareness among general population about traffic rules and safety school children joined hands with the police personnel and conducted a mock drill at Surajmal Road.
More than thousand students went around the town to speak to the public and auto drivers to educate them about the rules and regulations that need to be followed while driving/riding on the road.
The programme started from the city bus stand. The children also propagated the message that people above the age of 18 were only permitted to drive/ride on the roads and one should not violate this rule of the safety of the person concerned and others on the road.
“Keep to the left side of the road, insure your vehicles before the taking them out” said Manoj Kumar of SBM.
He also added that Maxi cabs, private buses and even KSRTC buses should drop passengers off at the bus stand with 300 feet distance.
“Drive slowly around places that house school/ colleges, courts and do not honk unnecessarily” said the official.
Among those who were present on the occasion included Dy SP M V Seshan, Circle Inspectors Puttamadaiaha and Krishnappa.
