Honeybees chase 15 monkeys to death
DH News Service, Kolar:
The urge to quench thirst proved fatal for 15 monkeys who were attacked by the honey bees resulting in the death of 15 monkeys.

The incident happened in the farm of one Venkateshappa near the hills of Terahalli village on the outskirts of the Kolar city. The monkeys had gone their to drink tender coconuts on Friday morning.

The honeybees which were in the vicinity were disturbed by the movement of the monkeys and attacked them leading to the death of 15 monkeys.

Drought
The drought like situation in the district and lack of food supplies forced the monkeys to go in search of green pastures which eventually lead to their end.  The drought has not only affected humans but also animals in a equal way.

The incident has created fear among other monkey herds. The screaming of moneys in pain and agony moved   people who witnessed it.
