Freedom fighter and state award winner V N Reddy has asked the youth to develop a temperament to question their system if they wish to contribute to the development of the country.
He was speaking at the youth festival organised on the occasion of Swami Vivekananda birth day celebrations. He said youth festivals were meant to inspire and guide the young people and therefore it would be a waste if they just had dance and music competitions with no efforts to increase awareness about their surroundings.
Question injustice
He said young people need to question the various injustices being meted out around them and that would be the gift to Swami Vivekananda on his birthday.
“The government initiatives fail to reach the people because they are held to ransom by corrupt officials. The youth have to work towards making this evil go away from our system so we also can boast of a healthy administration whose primary focus is the development of people,” he said.
