The Great Russian/Italian Prabhat Circus has entered the City after its successful ventures in various foreign countries. The company owner Saibaba told press persons here on Monday that the circus has received grand response from Mangaloreans after its commencement is the city since January 18.
The company presents 3 shows a day, at 1 pm, 4 pm and 7 pm at Padau High School ground near Kadri Park. Each show is of 2.30 hours duration. Prabhat Circus is the only circus company owned by Kannadigas, he said.
Mr Saibaba said the circus had been moving towards decay after the use of animals was banned. Though there were lions and tigers with the company 15 years back, they were handed over to government as per its order.
Now the company takes animals like elephant, camel and horse for its shows, he said.
When government gives funds to drama companies, why circus companies are denied of this facility where people put their lives into risk for livelihood, he asked. Circus managers Vijay and Sanjeevam were present in the press meet.
