Bhat Krishi Sadhaka
Mangalore, DHNS: P Subramanya Bhat, an organic farmer from Idkidu village of Bantwal taluk was conferred ‘Krishi Sadhaka Prashashti by the Shree Kshetra Dharmathala Gramabhivridhi Yojane at the Krishi Mela 2008 held ar Shirasi from January 9 to 11.

Applications  invited
Karnataka Tulu Sahithya Academy has invited applications for the Pushtaka Bahumana Project from the writers and publishers. The book spublished during 1-1-07 to 31-12-07 will be considered for the awards. Three other catagories including translaed works will be awarded. Works translated from Tulu to other language or vice-versa, Tulu poetries, Tulu dramas, research works on tulu published in 2007 will be considered for the award.
Four copies of the said work must be sent before January 31 to Registrar/President, Karnataka Tulu Sahithya Academy, Pustaka Bahumana Yojana Vobhaga, Mangalore City Corporation Building, Lalbaugh, Mangalore.

New president
Member of Rajyasabha Shantaram Naik has been elected as the new president of the All India Kokani Parishad. He will take over the charge at the Parishad’s 26th session to be held at Ernakulam from February 1 to 3, informed a press release.
