Former MLA K G Bopaiah, BJP district unit president Sunil Subrahmani and spokesperson M B Devaiah led the protests.
Though three months have passed since the elections were held for the local bodies, elected representatives have not assumed office and government officials themselves are looking after the administration.
This is akin to making a fool of the public. The protesters demanded that elected representatives must be immediately handed over power.
A special development grant of Rs 1,576 crore must be released and the Sandhya Suraksha Scheme must be implemented. The construction of the Suvarna Vidhan Soudha must be taken up immediately and those affected due to flood must be given compensation.
The salaries of teachers must be released and the step motherly treatment towards the State must be given up, they demanded the Governor.
BJP taluk unit president Bellu Somaiah, general secretary Ravibasappa, ZP former vice-president B C Neelamma, TP member Umaprabhu, BJP city unit president Mohan Monappa and party workers participated.
