The Grama Vastavya programme of former chief minister H D Kumaraswamy will be revived from February 10 onwards, said JD(S) Spokesperson Y S V Datta.
Addressing a programme on Grama Vasthavya organised at Bijjuvalli in Kere Gram Panchayat limits on Sunday, he said that Kumaraswamy will hold Gram vasthavya in one of the homes in the naxal affected villages of the Malnad region.
After interacting with the local residents about their problems, Mr Datta assured to include special infrastructure for the naxal affected areas in their next election manifesto.
“JD(S) has so far promptly implemented the points mentioned in its manifesto so far. It had paid maximum attention to solve the problems of the people in Kudremukh Rashtriya Udyana region,” he added.
A cheque of Rs 25,000 was handed over for the education of Adarsh, the son of the deceased Rame Gowda couple, who were killed in a police encounter in Odeyaramath.
JD(S) President H T Rajendra visited naxal affected areas such as Matholli, Bhalekadi, Kadkal, Kiroor, Keregadde villages and studied the problems of the people there.
During the visit the locals spoke about their problems and demanded for good roads and electricity in the region.
