Tiptur unit of the Karnataka Rakshana Vedike has warned that an agitation would be launched against the MPs of the State if they failed to pressurise the Union government and the Railway minister to set right the injustice being meted out in the appointment of Kannadigas in the Railways.
Disclosing this at a press conference, organised here on Tuesday, president of the Karnataka Rakshana Vedike (KRV) R Vijaykumar said, when a meeting was organised at Hubli recently, which was presided by Dr Patil Puttappa, only four MPs from the State attended and the meeting, while the rest of the MPs did not bother to attend. The KRV had taken this matter seriously, he added.
And when the KRV members protested against this, the supporters of the political leaders had allegedly tried to assault the KRV members. The KRV protests against this incident, Vijaykumar added.
If only these supporters of the political leaders, instead of indulging in such activities, could show much courage to pressurise the Union government and try to set right the injustice being meted out to the Kannadigas, he said.
The MPs should try to their best to prevail upon the Union government and try to set right the anomalies, the KRV president urged.
Taluk KRV unit secretary Kumar Yadav, vice-president Shivu Shankar, Annaiah, Nataraj, president of the city unit Shridhar (Siri) and the secretary were present on the occasion.
