The High Court has directed Tumkur Deputy Commissioner to give explanation for construction of a building on gomala land in Bidithota village, Koratagere taluk, Tumkur district, allegedly taken up against a HC order restraining the same.

A writ petition by one S H Nagaraj has said that HC had in 1992, ordered that no construction work should be taken up on the village’s gomala land measuring 30 acre 19 gunta. Despite this, authorities have taken up construction of Morarji Desai school building on the land, it said.

 The Division Bench headed by Chief Justice Cyriac Joseph directed the DC to file an affidavit furnishing information on the issue.
