The Official Language
Bangalore, Jan. 22.
Chief Minister S Nijalingappa said here today that the Government of Mysore were  “seriously considering the question of making Kannada, the Official Language of the State.”
The Chief Minister, who was speaking to reporters said that the question was no doubt beset with difficulties.

TTK Took No Personal Interest
Bombay, Jan. 22.
Mr T T Krishnamachari, Union Finance Minister, today deposed before the Chagia Enquiry Commission, that while he was in Bombay on June 23, when the “Mundhra deal” was transacted by the Life Insurance Corporation, he took no personal interest in the matter.

Loan Recovery Suspended
Bangalore, Jan 22
Chief Minister Ramakrishna Hegde has instructed the officials to suspend recovery of loans from farmers.
Briefing newsmen here today on the discussions he had this morning with
various representatives of
farmers organisations, Mr Hegde said that the officials had resumed recovery of dues since the previous
Government had suspended recovery only till the
completion of the
elections.
