Karnataka set up a title-clash with defending champions West Bengal with a 2-1 defeat of Punjab in the seventh all-India BSNL football tournament at the Bangalore Football Stadium here on Tuesday.
Kadiravan netted a double as the hosts dashed the final hopes of Punjab while West Bengal ensured a berth in the title round with a 4-1 tie-break win over Kerala.
Karnataka drew the first blood through Kadiravan in the 16th minute. Punjab levelled terms through Sunil Yadav five minutes later. Kadiravan netted the all-important winner for the State in the 43rd minute.
Meanwhile, West Bengal edged past Kerala in penalty shoot-out after a barren full-time action. Gopal Das, Rajat K Biswas, Pankaj Pal and Sanjib Ghosh converted the spot-kicks for the winners while only Ubaidullah could find the target for Kerala.
