Unseeded Karnataka player Vinod Gowda created an upset, defeating State-mate and third-seeded S Kamal 6-4, 6-4 in the boys under-18 pre-quarterfinals of the Safi Darashah AITA Champion Series tennis tournament at the Raghuveer Tennis Academy courts here on Tuesday. Right from the start, Vinod displayed his supremacy  and came up with powerful serves.
