Under President’s rule, the State is saving that much money, according to RTI activist Bheemappa Gundappa. Gundappa obtained the information through RTI.
As per the information, a whopping Rs 6.4 lakh was spent on February 3, 2006 alone when Kumaraswamy took oath as the CM. For medical expenses, Rs 13.17 lakh has been spent. Then Housing Minister D T Jayakumar has taken the lion’s share of Rs 4.5 lakh, while then Rural Water Supply Minister S A Ravindranath received the least amount of Rs 4,362.
Interestingly, Kumaraswamy, who toured the State extensively, has has claimed just Rs 12.29 lakh for travel allowance, while then Muzrai Minister B Nagaraj Shetty claimed the highest amount of Rs 25.42 lakh.
Former DyCM B S Yeddyurappa has claimed Rs 23.70 lakh. The then PWD minister H D Revanna has claimed daily allowance amounting to just Rs 2.39.
A total of Rs 1.46 crore has been spent on the ministers’ salary. Former municipal administration minister R Srinivas has not taken the salary at all. The shocking fact is N Chaluvarayaswamy had drawn the highest amount of Rs 11.58 lakh, which is more than that of the CM - Rs 7.03 lakh.
