Guard found murdered in Udupi
DH News Service, Udupi/Mangalore:
A security guard was found murdered under mysterious circumstances here at Chitpadi on Wednesday. The deceased has been identified as Ramesh (45), a resident of Dendukatte Alevoor.


According to the police, Ramesh was working as the security guard in the house of Bhaskar Somyaji Parkala at Chitpadi where the construction work for the new building was going on. The murder came to light when the lineman came for reading the electricity metre in the house.

Police suspect that Ramesh would have been murdered two days ago. They also suspect the use of a sharp weapon to stab him.  A case has been registered.

Skeleton found

The skeleton of a lady was found in a gunny bag, near a rivulet at Nadikudru bridge in Hejmadikodi, Padubidri on Tuesday.

DySP Girish, Kaup circle Inspector Vinay Naik, Padubidri police station in-charge Mohan K and taluk medical officer Dr Ashok visited the spot. Investigations are on.

Man held

Police arrested a person for assaulting certain Suresh with blade, at Pandeshwar police station limits on Tuesday.
The arrested has been identified as Ashraf. They had a fight over trivial issue of using mobile. A case has been registered.

Lightning strikes house

A house was partially damaged when a lightning stuck at Ichlampady in Nelyadi.  The electricity wires have been completely damaged along with TV and other electronic household items, incurring a loss of Rs 50,000.

Missing

A certain Nahara Singh has been missing from Kadri from July 4. He was working as a housemaid in the house of Veena Shetty of Shivbhag Kadri.

Succumbs to injury

A certain Hariyappa Gowda (48), a resident of Marakada Dolpady village in Puttur accidentally fell from a tree while cutting the branches and succumbed to the injuries on Monday. Though he was rushed to the hospital, he breathed his last in the hospital.
