Addressing a press meet here on Friday, the office-bearers of the Committee disclosed that tomato growers would march to Vidhana Soudha on July 23 to impress their demands upon the government. The benefit of MSP is restricted to ten tonnes per hectare, which do not benefits the farmers. Government should intervene in the market through a permanent arrangement to prevent slump in prices. Tomato growing area in the district should be monitored so as to regulate the glut in the market. A processing unit should also be established in the district, they demanded.
