Aziz Mirza hasn’t seen Lage Raho Munnabhai. Else Vidya Balan wouldn’t be straining her vocal cords yet again for senior citizens facing displacement. A repeat act, and a boring one at that. Shahid overacts and occasionally looks up to curse his stars. Tough luck.
An architect with no assignments, Shahid’s kismat comes in the form of a slightly overweight Vidya Balan. (Damn the new hairdo, she still looks much older than Shahid). Everything seems to fall in place as Vidya enters in heels that are almost her height. Shahid’s car stops misbehaving, his ATM card is no longer rejected, and he lands a plum shopping mall contract… all this and more when Ms Sunshine Vidya is by his side.
Kismat connects, but there are no sparks. Instead, we get a triangle. Vidya is engaged to her love rat of a boyfriend who has the hots for his boss’ wife too.
The rest of the script is as clear as Juhi Chawla’s crystal ball. The sprightly actress is wasted in a role that is too loud and silly for her. Ditto for Boman Irani who seems to have wandered out of Love Story 2050 with the same wig.
Shahid and Vidya share no chemistry. Shahid sheds his boyish looks only for the sermon in the end where he talks of global warming!
Bad kismat.
